Paintings
The gallery of paintings brings together a collection of more than 200 works by the French masters and also from the Italian and Northern schools, covering the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Among them are works by Fragonard, Nattier, Boucher, Vignon, Largillière, Rigaud, Vouet, Natoire and Vernet. The Italian and Northern schools are represented by artists such as Dolci, Romanelli, Sassoferrato, Hondius and Soreau. Note also Judith's prayer before killing Holofernes, an exceptional seventeenth-century painting by Gerrit Honthorst in the style of Caravaggio.
