Provenance:
The painting featured in a lottery organized by the Danish Artistic Society (Kunstforeningen), on the 4th of November 1830, where it was won by Johan Christian Fick (1788-1864), High Commissioner of War, collector and a friend of Eckersberg; his brother-in-law, Benjamin Wolff (1790-1866), thereafter his descendants.
